Overview
A client wanted a bespoke triple garage designed specifically to house a Range Rover Vogue and Jaguar F-Type, with a home office above and a wine cellar below.
The Design
The new building was designed to replicate the character of the demolished garage and complement the main house — white-painted brick, black garage doors, a soldier course of brickwork over the openings, matching leadwork to the windows, and dormer geometry taken directly from the main house. The home office above is lit by two dormer windows, while below ground, a wine cellar was built beneath the garage floor, accessed via a trapdoor — protected by a car parked directly on top of it. We worked closely with the wine cellar company to resolve the technical and waterproofing requirements.
Planning & Drawings
The project presented several constraints, including a shared boundary with a public footpath and a protected tree on site. An arboriculturist was engaged to support the planning application, alongside specialist input to resolve the foundation design.
Despite the complexity, the application was approved without objection — with neighbouring properties even submitting formal letters of support.
A full set of architectural and structural drawings was prepared, along with supporting visuals documenting the project before, during and after completion.
Outcome
The finished design delivered exactly what the client set out to achieve — a practical and well-functioning space that meets their needs.
The garage layout works efficiently, the additional internal space functions as intended, and the overall design makes the most of the available footprint. The result is a well-resolved and highly usable addition to the property.
