Camberley – Triple Garage with Office & Bespoke Wine Cellar

Overview: A client wanted a bespoke triple garage designed specifically to house a Range Rover Vogue and Jaguar F-Type, with a home office above and a wine cellar below.

The Design: The new building was designed to replicate the character of the demolished garage and complement the main house — white-painted brick, black garage doors, a soldier course of brickwork over the openings, matching leadwork to the windows, and dormer geometry taken directly from the main house. The home office above is lit by two dormer windows, while below ground, a wine cellar was built beneath the garage floor, accessed via a trapdoor — protected by a car parked directly on top of it. We worked closely with the wine cellar company to resolve the technical and waterproofing requirements.

Planning: The project presented real constraints — a shared boundary with a public footpath and a protected tree on site. We engaged an arboriculturist to support the planning application and a piling contractor to resolve the foundation design. Despite the complexity, the application was approved without objection — and unusually, the neighbouring properties submitted formal support letters to Surrey Heath Borough Council.

Outcome: The finished building delivered exactly what the client wanted — both cars fit perfectly, the office works as intended, and the wine cellar remains one of the more unusual and satisfying details we’ve delivered. A personal site visit after completion confirmed a very happy client, still enjoying the garage to this day.
